While speaking to WIN, she quips, “I think the most daunting task is we don’t have enough capacity for the communication of women. With my time in BJP, I did create that capacity. I could start a conversation between government and art, and that is my greatest contribution. Women accomplishments aren’t just supposed to be celebrated by women; but by all. I encourage women to speak out before it’s too late. I think there is an exciting time for women in cinema, fantastic artists and technical in mainstream and offbeat stories. It’s time for stories which are real and ugly. We have to recalibrate the way we tell our stories and I wish more power to Women Inspiring network it’s a powerful platform to express the voices of women. Women are great storytellers, so it’s about time you find the time and confidence to come out with these voices.

After exploring different fields, Shamita said, “I realised I was more inclined towards creative, I have never planned my life. It is a result of me going with the flow. The first month was frustrating during the lockdown, but technology has helped us all a lot to survive this situation. This is a time for being grateful about everything you have especially after looking at the situation of migrant workers and others suffering. So am I for having a roof over my head.” She further adds, “In any profession, women are speaking up. We are living in an age where women are expressive. We all have stress; people think everything is taken care for me, which is wrong because I don’t like being dependant on anybody. In times of stress, feeling of gratitude heals. Recognise your dreams and go for it, go out to do what you’re meant to do. Don’t feel guilty about your dreams.”
